Q: If Cozmo becomes my WiFi connection, how does that work? Will my home WiFi shutdown? Will all my devices disconnect from my WiFi network when I play with Cozmo?
Playing with Cozmo will not affect your home Wi-Fi network. You’ll be able to use other devices in your home that are connected to your internet.
Cozmo himself never goes online, but does require your device to play. To allow this connection, Cozmo becomes his own Wi-Fi access point, connecting only to your device and not the Internet. Since your device connects directly to Cozmo, you and Cozmo’s adventures are just between you.
Q: Having trouble connecting to Cozmo’s WiFi or seeing odd messages on your device?

More Advanced Questions
Q: How is Cozmo’s WiFi connection secured?
Cozmo secures his communication between himself and your device on two levels. His WiFi network and conversations with the Cozmo app are separately encrypted.
Q: Can you be a bit more specific about the WiFi security?
Cozmo’s WiFi connection is protected by the Wi-Fi Protected Access II (WPA2) security protocol, a 12 digit pre-shared key, and uses a unique SSID for each Cozmo.
Q: Can Cozmo’s connection be negatively impacted by other devices?
While it’s possible that other devices like microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, baby monitors and digital cordless telephones could interfere with Cozmo’s WiFi connection, such devices would have to be relatively close to Cozmo or your device controlling Cozmo would have to be very far away from him to likely have any impact. If you do encounter situations that look like interference, please let us know so that we can investigate with you.
